Blooming Glen, PA - Blooming Glen Quarry (BGQ) is now providing their Reclamation Fill Source Approval Information Sheet digitally. This form is to be completed by its customers prior to the importation of any fill material from a new source to BGQ’s facility. This form will allow BGQ to collect pertinent information required to ensure compliance with its site specific permit conditions. By filling out this form, a customer certifies that all fill-type materials brought to BGQ’s property meet the clean fill standards established by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP). This form, in PDF format, can be filled out digitally and submitted via email to acurtis@hkgroup.com. According to the PaDEP, clean fill consists of uncontaminated, non-water soluble, non-decomposable, inert solid material, including soil, rock, stone, gravel, brick (no painted surfaces), block and concrete (no painted surfaces), block and concrete containing metal internally (all metal shall be removed from the surface of the block and/or concrete so that only rebar or other metals that are embedded in the concrete remains), and used, uncontaminated asphalt.
No materials containing wood, plaster, metals, asphaltic substances (including, but not limited to shingles/roofing materials), brick, block, or concrete with painted surfaces, tile, refractory brick, fly ash, dredged materials, or other materials that are not free or separate of materials meeting the definition of waste shall be accepted.
