On Monday, June 7, 2004, officials from Lower Pottsgrove Township and Reading
Materials, Inc. agreed to a June 14, start date for utilization of a donated Street Sweeper
Truck within the Township. The Lower Pottsgrove Township Board of Commissioners
accepted usage dates and terms as presented by Reading Materials, Inc. later this same
day at their regularly scheduled monthly meeting as held at the Township’s Buchert Road
municipal offices. Reading Materials, Inc. presented this equipment usage donation to
the Township as an offer of community outreach.
Beginning on June 14, and continuing for a period of two (2) weeks, Reading Site Contractors (a division of Reading Materials, Inc.) will supply a stateoftheart Street Sweeper Truck with operator to Lower Pottsgrove Township to clean dirt, grit and debris from approximately thirtyfive (35) miles of roadway within the Township. This donation was issued from Reading Site Contractors Pottstown based operations located at 392 Sanatoga Road. Reading Site Contractors shares its Pottstown location with sibling Reading Materials, Inc. Sanatoga Quarry (formerly Pottstown Trap Rock Quarry). Anthony Jeremias, Public Affairs Manager for Reading Materials, Inc., issued a
statement referencing this donation as “Reading Materials, Inc.’s commitment to community outreach and vitalization within Lower Pottsgrove Township”.
